Minimizing fraud CC
Verifying the location of a given IP address and the place of issue of a card number (BIN).
Combined with the GEO-IP the location of the IP with the location of the place of issue will be matched and a distance will be measured; simply said; the
larger the distance, the higher the likeliness of fraud. Additionally, if accumulation of cases of fraud occur, alerts will be sent out in the respective
country of destination.
For instance, a credit card customer from Tuvalu, who orders a CD in a German online shop, is rather unlikely and you should better refrain from this deal.
Geo-IP
Evaluation of the location of a given IP address
The country of an IP address can be identified, anonymous proxies will be shown separately and transparent proxies, if known, as well.
It is possible to query the city matching the IP address; but only (depending on the country) with the certainty level between 50 and 80%.
That way you know, before the customer tells you something about himself, with quite good sureness where he comes from and can also determine the region within his country of origin.
Area Risk Check
Indicates a risk index for the specified address on the basis of the environment data.
We provide a value for the average payment behaviour in a specific region; this value reflects statistical data regarding the surrounding area and housing; besides that data from large dispatchers about the reversal rate in this areas are gathered.
That allows you to roughly judge your counterpart; just like asking someone who knows the area where he lives and which people live in this neighbourhood.
Mail validation
Does the email address exist and does the designated mail server accept the mail?
The mail address is considered one of the most important data in online commerce (e-commerce), but what's the use of asking the customer for it if he makes a typing erroror uses a nonexisitng address? Therefore you should check at least if the email address is routable and the respective mailserver accepts it before transfering it into your database.
Address check
Validaion of correctness of German addresses; do ZIP code/City/Street and house number exist?
Again, only the address will be validated; whether a customer is registered with this address will not be ascertained.
a. this check makes fraud of content suppliers difficult
b. enables us to easily identify wrong delivery-address entries.
Account validation
Validation of German and Austrian account data against given check algorithms.
The validation proves, that this account with the specified data could be assigned by the bank.
Typing errors by entering data can be identified, which saves you the costs of a false debit and discomfort for the customer.
